Do you want to go to Disneyland but just don’t think you have it in your budget? Well, think again! It is quite possible to visit the Magic Kingdom on a budget and still have an amazing time without depriving yourself of anything! It all has to do with getting the best Disneyland vacation package that you can. Disneyland runs specials all throughout the year, each time advertising some special discount. These discounts vary depending on the time of year, but generally you can be certain that you can find one or two nights free with a certain number of paid nights, or a free day in either Disneyland or California Adventure if you buy a certain number of park hopper passes. If you don’t go through a Disney based company, you can still find great vacation packages. A travel agent will be able to find you a great package and may even be able to work in a couple freebies along the way like a free meal or a complimentary Disneyland souvenir tee shirt. Booking with the Walt Disney Travel Company will most likely give you the best deals. You may end up paying slightly more, but the perks that you receive by booking with this company, ike free meals, snacks and souvenirs will benefit you in the long run.
Surviving Disneyland with a Toddler
March 17th, 2009 — Disneyland, Disneyland Lodging, Kids Fly Free
Joy, elation, surprise and awestruck are the ways that most parents expect to feel when they take their 3 year old to Disneyland for the first time. Instead, however, what they may find is exhaustion, temper tantrums and meltdowns! Traveling anywhere with a toddler can be tough when normal schedules and routines are interrupted and naptimes can be non-existent. If you play your cards right, though, you can plan a wonderful trip as long as you remember to keep their best interests at hand. Be sure to always make it back to your hotel room during the day so they can nap and be refreshed for the remainder of the day. Rent a stroller so their legs will not be tired walking the park all day and be sure to include their favorite blanket or animal to remind them of home. Don’t waste too much time worrying about the details like getting the perfect shot with Mickey Mouse. You may find that your toddler is terrified of the characters…don’t sweat it. Let them out to run around or play in the pool, away from all of the stimulation of the park where they can let loose and be themselves. Keep the well stocked with snacks to satisfy them during the day and make it an early evening back to your hotel room to prepare for a good nights sleep.
Fly your Kids for Free and Save a Bundle to Disneyland
March 3rd, 2009 — Kids Fly Free
At any given time of the year, most airlines will offer flight specials to Disneyland. Alaska Airlines offers a “kids fly free” special 2-3 times a year. To qualify, every child must have a full paying adult accompanying them on the flight. These specials are offered randomly throughout the year, but generally during the travel “off season” when travel is not at its peak. If you are lucky enough to find these specials, you can save upwards of over $1000 in your flight budget, allowing you to apply that money to perhaps nicer accommodations or just to put it back in the bank. Keep your eyes open for these specials, or go to different airline websites to find out if they have any specials planned for the future.
