Where to Go in Disneyland when you Have a Snack Attack

Disneyland is known for their incredible rides, charming shops and magical characters.  They are also known for great food and snacks are no different!  If you have a craving for a little snack to tide you over until the next meal, you have a huge number of places and choices to choose from.  Head over to Toontown to grab a quick hot dog at Pluto’s Dog House or a sandwich to go from Clarabelle’s.  Adventureland holds some tasty tropical treats like a tasty chicken teriyaki kabob or a refreshing pineapple spear or pineapple sorbet from the Tiki Juice Bar sponsored by Dole.  As soon as you pass though Mainstreet USA, you will find the red Corn Dog Wagon with the most delicious tasting corndogs you can imagine, hot and crispy on the outside.  Refreshing non-alcoholic mint-juleps and fritters or beignet’s are available at the Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square.  For a quick bite on the go, you can taste some hot crispy French fries from Conestoga Fries across the street from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.  Tomorrowland holds Red Rockett’s Pizza Parlor where you can “fly” in for a quick slice of pizza before you go on your way to fight like Buzz Lightwear or a Storm Trooper.  For those who are searching for a healthier alternative, there are produce stands located in several different spots in the park.  Here you will find a large variety of fruits and vegetables from grapes, apples and strawberries to carrots and celery with ranch dip.  Also available at these stands are the world famous HUGE dill pickles just waiting to be crunched!

It’s All About Rules as a Disneyland Cast Member

Ever wondered why the Disney characters in full garb don’t talk?  It’s simple.  They aren’t allowed to!  Disneyland is run like a well oiled machine.  Very rarely does anything go significantly wrong with the way the park is run.  Anyone who is employed at Disneyland or California adventure, whether behind the scenes or on the front line are called “cast members”.  If you have the “honor” and “privilege” of being chosen as a character cast member, be careful what you wish for!  Those who are “real” characters, such as the Disney Princesses or Peter Pan are allowed to talk to their fans as long as they don’t break character.  If you put on a costume that covers you up entirely, like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck or Goofy, you can be as animated as you want with your body movements, but you are not allowed to talk.  The reason being is that the costumes are not able to have their mouths move and Disney characters have very distinct voices which are very hard to mimic, which if done wrong could mean the jig is up, breaking some children’s hearts.  Classes are taught for non-verbal characters to “talk with their hands”.  It may not be the most exciting job in the world, but when you see the faces of the adoring fans light up, it will all be worth it!

Tasty Kid Friendly Food at Disneyland

Traveling with small children is never an easy experience.  Their routines and schedules at home are messed up and usually it is difficult to find a well balanced meal when it is not in the comforts of your own home.  Luckily, the people at the Disneyland Resort have based their whole existence on making your Disney experience as wonderful and stress free as possible, and that includes serving delicious and nutritious meals that your youngsters are sure to love!  In every restaurant inside the park, you will be able to find a number of kid-friendly entrees to entice any child’s palette.  The most popular dish is the all white meat chicken nuggets formed in the shape of your favorite character, Mickey Mouse.  You will also be able to find creamy Stouffers macaroni and cheese (not from a processed box) as well as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  All meals are served with fresh fruit to give you little ones a proper serving of fruits everyday.  Of course, you will always find lots of yummy treats all around the park, but for meals, you can trust that your kids will love what you ordered them and you can rest easy knowing they are eating a well balanced meal.

Will Renting a Car Save you Money in Disneyland?

If you are planning on visiting other destinations during your Disneyland trip, renting a car is an idea to consider.  An average standard sized car rental can run approximately $200 for a week, plus gas and mileage, so you should be conscience of how much you are driving.  The upside to having a car rental is that you will not have to pay for a taxi or car service every time you need to venture out of walking distance.  You also have the freedom to drive to other places of interest such as the beach, Sea World, Lego Land or Universal Studios for instance.

Have a Practically Perfect Lunch with your Favorite Disney Princess

California Adventure at the Disneyland resort offers your little princess the opportunity to dine and share their meal with all of their favorite Disney Princesses.  Ariel’s Grotto (named for that famous Little Mermaid, Ariel) offers lunch and dinner seven days a week.  Reservations are a must and should be done well in advanced to ensure the desired time.  Once you are let into the Grotto, and have descended the grand staircase, you are greeted by the Little Mermaid herself (with an accompanying Disney Photographer to capture that special moment).  Ariel will pose for a picture with your little princess as well as autograph your book for you.  Once you are seated for your meal, you will be greeted repeatedly by all of your favorite Disney Princesses.  All of them are there, Cinderella, Belle, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty all dressed in their royal finery.  These princesses lovingly take ample time with your little girl, posing for plenty of pictures and asking them adoring questions that make your little princess feel like she were royalty herself.  If you have a Disney Princess fan in your family, this is not something to be missed.  The meals are tasty and the service is wonderful, but the real money maker are those dreamy princesses who light up your little princesses eyes when they make their entrance into the Grotto.
