Knott’s Berry Farm is the oldest theme park located in the United States. This park pays homage to an 1880’s ghost town complete with saloon girls and a location where you can mine for real gold. Knott’s is a great experience for those who love the “Old West” as well as for the younger generation who love wild and exhillarating thrill rides, because this park has both! Knott’s Berry Farm is located just 15 minutes from Disneyland. It is filled to the rim with charming shops, adorable characters and great food. The most popular restaurant at the park is Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant where you will get a finger-lickin’ delicious fried chicken dinner made from Cordelia Knotts original recipe. It is worth a trip to Knott’s Berry Farm just for this meal, I assure you! Once you are inside the park, there are many different sections that you can visit at a time. Camp Snoopy is geared entirely for the younger visitors. All of the attractions are just the right size for the uner 10 age group and children love this portion of the park. The more adventurous visitor can brave death-defying thrill rides like the all-wooden Ghost Rider, Jaguar, Boomerang or Montezooma’s Revenge. These rides certainly are not for those with motion sickness or fear of heights! Visiting Old Ghost Town will take you back into time with a stage coach ride, blacksmith demonstration as well as a shop which sells handmade bonnets and aprons. Knott’s Berry Farm may not have the “magic” and “wonderment” of Disneyland, but it is charming nonetheless and should be given a chance.

Take a Break from Disneyland Park with a Pirate’s Dinner Adventure!
May 4th, 2009 — Pirate, dinner, hor de'eourves, ship
There is no disbuting the fact that Disneyland is chocked full of fun things to see and do. What you may not know is that if you venture a short distance outside of the park, you will find a bevy of other incredible sites to experience. Do yourself a favor and take an evening off from the park and make reservations at the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure in Buena Park (about a 10 minute drive from Disneyland). This experience is perfect for those who have “pirate fanatics” living in their home. From the moment you walk into the doors of the building, you are transported into a swashbuckling adventure. Before the dinner part of your evening begins, there is a wine and appetizer preshow. You and your guests will venture all of the building, sampling delicious hor de’oerves and mingling with other guests of the show. Then, suddenly out of the blue, a commotion will ring out and you will see a large number of pirates assembling in the main hall for some pre-show entertainment. The main show area is like a small amphitheatre surrounding a large pirate ship stage that appears as though it is floating on an ocean. Once the show begins, you will be cheering on your favorite pirates and hoping that your designated ones win. Don’t be surprised if some of the pirates ask your children to go onto the ship with them. Some of these children will be dressed as pirates, the others will be dressed as the “red coats” completed with muskets, white wigs and jackets. You have a large variety of choices for dinner. Though not extravagant, they are tasty. There is also a children’s menu to appease even the pickiest of eaters. The pyrotechnics and special effects of this show along with the humorous and talented actors make this experience truly enjoyable for all ages.
Go Back to the Renaissance Age at Medival Times
May 4th, 2009 — Disneyland, dinner, knights, maidens, renaissance
When you travel to Disneyland, one of the greatest things about its location is how close it is to many other sites and attractions. One of the most favorite things that tourists like to do at night after a long day in the Disneyland is to venture 10 minutes away to Medieval Times. Located in Buena Park, this medieval dueling knights dinner show attracts thousands of visitors each month and is great entertainment for all ages. Advanced reservations are highly recommended, especially during busy tourist seasons. You can purchase these tickets in person or online at www.medivaltimes.com. The tickets are $53.95 for adults and $36.95 for children under 12 years of age. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a renaissance knight who will assign you a certain color (red, green, yellow or blue). You will sit in your assigned color section which means you will be cheering for the knight wearing that particular color. Throughout the evening, your knights will be dueling one another on horseback while fighting for the hand of the fair maiden. While you watch the show, you will be dining on dining fare reminiscent of medieval days….without the use of utensils! This is a favorite among kids! A tasty menu of roasted chicken, potatoes, bread and pastries make it a well rounded and authentic dinner. Your evening will end with a trip into the gift shop where you can load up your knights with swords and armour and your princesses with maiden hair wreathes. Medieval Times is a must-see for those in the area.
